Yesterday's discussion focused on the following:
- Priorities: God's & Ours- Do they align?
- Bible: A King, A Kingdom and A Royal Family of Children - Whoa, really?
- Binding & Loosing: The Power of Prayer given to us by God to intervene - Do you believe this?
- World mindset vs Kingdom mindset: Thinking like a Kingdom Citizen - How does this happen?
When faced with the topics above, one member stated, "Whoa, that's a lot of responsibility!" others also agreed, but we understood that it cannot be done without God.
Sometimes we let the overwhelming feeling of this possible burden take over our minds and even give up before beginning. God is waiting for us to invite him in and to ask for his guidance in every aspect of our lives, so why not for the TOP PRIORITY to God- The Kingdom of God.
A few statements from the devotional really impacted our discussion:
- Life's greatest challenge is in knowing what to do
- Life's greatest failure is to be successful in the wrong assignment
These statements really hit us to the core.
Where are we now? What have we been doing? Are we really where God has placed us or are we standing on the sidelines? When God shows us 'this is where I want you to be', do we hesitate because it isn't what we want or because we don't feel worthy to be the ones chosen?
Power of Prayer.....God has given us dominion over the earth and He cannot break that covenant, so we must invite Him in to intervene. This is something that blew us away, we might have known this, but was not as real as last night when we all discussed the importance of this gift & privilege. If you haven't read this, please go to Page 120-122 and discover or rediscover what our Lord has given us and how important it is!
Matthew 4:17 as summarized by Myles Munroe: Change your mind! Stop thinking like the world with its inadequacies and inequities, and start thinking like a kingdom citizen!
Amazing stuff Lupita - wish I had been there (this is Veronica)
ReplyDeleteWas there discussion on how different people get confirmations on knowing where God wants them to be? I would love to hear different ways in which people knew where God wanted them to be - how they heard Him, etc.
Actually it did come up.
ReplyDeleteWe shared the differences we see and feel when we are in God's Sweet Spot (where he wants us to be).
God communicates with each of us differently and sometimes some of us need a tender nudge, while other may need a big billboard (literally) to speak to our hearts of where God wants us to be.
We touched upon, how in the ministry that we may be in, God may want to move us. This move may be seen with hesitation and resistance, but perhaps it is to strengthen us and expose us to the next part of his plan for us.
How do we know if we are where He wants us to be or his plan for us?
By being connected to God by seeking his face.
It is through this personal connection, personal devotion that we can truly hear from God. This may look different depending on who you are: singing, praying, dancing, painting...etc.
When we are aligned with God's mind, then what we do will be in obedience to Him. His plan will unravel before our eyes and even then we may not understand it or see it, but because we trust in Him and His LOVE for us (his royal children) we walk with him.
What if our connection has become cloudy, faded or torn...how do we reconnect?
We acknowledge it then ask God for humility and for him to refresh us; renew us in mind, body and spirit, and guide us back to Him.
